What is the LRAP Association?

The Loan Repayment Assistance Program Association (LRAP) helps colleges and universities increase student enrollment and retention, thus increasing revenue.

We believe in the life-changing power of higher education. LRAP Association’s mission is to serve the financial needs of both our colleges and our students and their families. LRAP works with colleges and universities across the United States to reduce anxiety about the increasingly necessary burden of student loans.

We solve the problem of “I can’t afford it.” LRAP changes “no” to “yes,” empowering students and their families to confidently attend their first-choice college or university, despite the necessity of borrowing student loans. By offering students the guarantee that “if your post-graduate income is low, we will help you pay back your loans,” LRAP removes the barrier of student loans from the student’s choice of where to attend college.

We share a commitment to making the life-changing power of higher education available to all students, regardless of their socio-economic background. LRAP's innovative approach works to optimize human potential, while making significant contributions to closing the achievement and education gaps. LRAP provides a unique and effective market solution for improving post-secondary outcomes, thereby revolutionizing the use of limited financial aid resources to increase access to higher education for at-risk students. By putting students on the path to success and prosperity, LRAP's impact can be felt by both the individuals and families benefiting directly from our service, but also by the societies and world that we have committed ourselves to improving.

“For many students, educational debt is a serious deterrent based upon first-hand family or community observations of the potentially crushing consequences of debt.”
- Stephen Yandle, Creator of Yale Law School's LRAP

“I had students crying because it opened doors for them. It was a great leverage tool with transfer students and I was able to move 2 out of state students off the fence. I even reached a student who had enrolled at the local community college and after news of the LRAP option, she withdrew from classes and registered at Malone.”
-Leslie Shaffer, Transfer Counselor, Malone University

“Hearing fellow students having the same struggles with loan payments, and knowing in the back of my mind of the peace that I can have because of this program – it has been really great to me. And even hearing of other students that have been a part of the program, and the peace that they've been able to have, has really been encouraging.”
